Grady Sizemore Coming Back to Cleveland?

Less than three weeks after the Indians declined his $9 million option, free agent Grady Sizemore is “in serious discussions” to return to Cleveland for 2012, according to FoxSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal.

Rosenthal has two sources who think the deal will probably happen, and another who says Sizemore is putting negotiations with other clubs on hold to focus on re-signing with the Tribe. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Buster Olney heard that the signing “will happen.”

Sizemore’s camp has confirmed the rumors.”The Indians came at us with an aggressive offer,” his agent, Joe Urbon, said to ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick, though he cautioned that beyond that and Sizemore’s interest in returning in Cleveland, he could not say more.

The idea of Sizemore re-signing isn’t a huge surprise; Urbon and GM Chris Antonetti had both said that reuniting was a possibility, and Antonetti had said he would “remain hopeful” that the Indians could bring him back.

Besides the Indians, the A’s, Cubs, Giants. Phillies, Rangers, Red Sox, Rockies, and Yankees have all been connected to Sizemore this winter.
