    • Today marks the beginning of an exciting time on the shores of Lake Erie, as LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers begin their quest for an NBA Championship while the Cleveland Indians continue their first month of a promising season.

    In the finale of the Tribe’s first series in a meaningful road trip across the AL Central, Cleveland sends T.J. House to the mound for his second start of the season. An impressive finish to the 2014 season helped House stake his claim to a rotation spot this spring, but he got off to a rough start last week against the scorching hot Detroit Tigers. The Indians’ lone left-handed starter, House three 1.1 innings and allowed six earned runs (40.50 ERA) and, more unsettling, surrendered three walks. He’ll try to regain his form against Minnesota, who he faced three times last season, throwing 17.1 innings and striking out 18 while surrendering just two runs.

    Minnesota will trot out Trevor May, who will make his second start of the season as well. May labored through 5.1 innings of work in his first start against the Kansas City Royals, allowing five earned runs and allowing eight hits. May is the third consecutive right-handed starter to face a sputtering Tribe offense. The road trip projects to field at least five right-handed starters over the next six games, so the left-handed heavy Indians will have every opportunity to get themselves back on track.

    -The Indians lead the American League with 107 strikeouts in just 90 innings pitched. They have four games of 10 or more strikeouts in the early part of the season and, according to the ESPN Stats & Info Group, the last team to achieve that feat within the first 10 games of the season (2001 Arizona Diamondbacks) went on to win the World Series. 

    –Roberto Perez equaled his single-game career-best with three hits in Saturday’s game against the Twins. Now playing every day in place of Yan Gomes, Perez is hitting .300 with two home runs and four RBIs in seven games. His two home runs are good for the top spot on the team.

    –According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, the Indians are flip-flopping Carlos Carrasco and Trevor Bauer in the rotation against Chicago. Bauer will now start on Monday while Carrasco returns to the mound on Tuesday.

    -Even before his strong outing on Saturday, Paul Hoynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group reported the Cleveland Indians announced that Danny Salazar will stay in the rotation and Zach McAllister will continue to work out of the bullpen.

    -As Cleveland braces for an exciting sports time, the Cavaliers tip-off against the Boston Celtics at Quicken Loans Arena at 3:00 p.m. on ABC. Here’s to hoping you have split-screen ability — or two TVs!
