More from Cleveland Guardians Prospects

The 2014 1st round pick has enjoyed one heck of a season to date with the Tribe’s Advanced-A affiliate Lynchburgh Hillcats.  He’s already played in the Class A All-Star Game, and he was also recently selected to represent the Cleveland Indians in the MLB Future’s Game.  Zimmer had been taking a backseat in the prospect rankings to Francisco Lindor, but with Lindor graduating to the big leagues Zimmer is the media darling of the Tribe’s system.  He’s currently hitting .304/.401/.489 with 10 HR and 30 SB.  He ranks 2nd in the Carolina league in OBP, OPS, and HR.  His 30 stolen bases are also tied for the league lead.

Zimmer will represent the US squad as it squares off against the World squad in the Futures Game, which will take place this Sunday, July 12th at 3pm ET.
