The Indians may be poised to change their history against the Tigers

It was a simple two out of three series win, but it felt like it may have been more than that for the Cleveland Indians. The Detroit Tigers have had their way with not just the Tribe but everyone in the Central the past few years. Thanks to the youth movement in Cleveland, that may be about to change. Francisco Lindor, Cody Anderson, Giovanny Urshela. They aren’t familiar with what’s happened recently, and they’re ready to write their own stories.

Not that you need any more evidence that this Indians pitching staff is pretty darn good, we offer up a study that they are the least wild in the American League. Using walks, wild pitches and batters hit-by-pitch, we get a calculated factor –hey, just check it out. No need sparing all the energy in explaining it. The Indians staff is good and this is just another reason why.

The Labor Day holiday tends to be a benchmark of postseason possibility. If you lead your division by six games or more? You’re a virtual lock. Trail in the Wild Card by 3 1/2 or more? Not good news. The Tribe fall into the latter, but there’s never a better time than the present to change history.

The Royals are going for it this year, and that was evidenced at the trade deadline. Johnny Cueto was supposed to help solidify the Royals staff, but suddenly there are big questions about Cueto. Is something wrong? Is he injured?
