The Cleveland Indians extended their win streak to ten games with an 8-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves Monday night. It’s their longest win streak since the end of the 2013 season. The win pushed the Indians to 45-30 on the season. The loss dropped the Braves to 26-50.

More from Away Back Gone

Tribe starter Trevor Bauer moved to 6-2 on the season with another quality start. He went six innings allowing two runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out five. The Braves first got on the board in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a sacrifice fly by Nick Markakis to score Ender Inciarte tying the game at one. The Braves added a second in the bottom of the 4th inning on a solo home run by Tyler Flowers making it 4-2 Indians.

Relievers Jeff Manship, Tom Gorzelanny, and Tommy Hunter each worked scoreless outings for the Tribe before Joba Chamberlain worked the 9th inning, allowing a run on an RBI double by veteran A.J. Pierzynski.

The Tribe offense continued it’s hot streak, scoring eight on the night and scoring at least six runs for the seventh straight game. They got on the board in the top of the 1st inning on an RBI single by Mike Napoli to score Francisco Lindor. That was all the Tribe would get off Braves starter John Gant as he left the game in the 3rd inning with an injury. After the Braves tied it at one in the bottom of the 3rd, Lonnie Chisenhall gave the Indians the lead back on a three-run home run off reliever Tyrell Jenkins (0-1) in the top of the 4th inning making it 4-1 Indians. It was Chisenhall’s fourth home run of the season and second in the past two days.

The Indians added another run in the top of the 7th inning on an RBI single by pinch-hitter Carlos Santana making it 5-2 Indians. The Tribe then added a pair in the top of the 8th inning on RBI hits by Jose Ramirez and Tyler Naquin. Finally, the Indians added their eighth run in the top of the 9th inning on a solo home run by Jason Kipnis, his 10th of the season. It was just the second home run of the season off a left-handed pitcher for Kipnis.
