The Cleveland Indians are still not at the top of the MLB when it comes to projected win total in 2017, but the team may surprise once again.

Most Cleveland Indians fans don’t care about the team’s win total as long as the team makes another postseason run.

But for those who are betting on the win total, there may be some money to be made in 2017.

Bovada currently has the Indians pegged at 92.5 for the over/under win total in 2017, after the team won 94 games a year ago. And that was in 161 games, so perhaps a 95th could have been had.

The 92.5 total is safe for the book, as they don’t want to make it too high and thus easier for bettors. However, it may be fair to say that taking the over is a safe bet.

That mark may not be reached until the final week of the season, but there is no reason to believe the Indians won’t at least repeat their 2016 record in 2017.

The key is staying healthy, but the team did just fine without some key players throughout last season. Add in Edwin Encarnacion and potentially Michael Brantley, along with depth in the rotation, and there is no reason why the Indians won’t cruise to 95-100 wins this season.

Now it is easy to expect this when being an Indians fan, as we all expect the team to make it back to the World Series and hopefully win it all. But it is just not a homer mentality in 2017, but rather a logical prediction.

The ultimate goal should be to have the best record in the league to secure home-field advantage, but just making it to the postseason would be nice.
