The Cleveland Indians are sending five players to the 2017 MLB All-Star Game, including Jose Ramirez who was voted in as a starter by the fans.

All that voting paid off.

The All-Star selection show was tonight and the efforts of the fans paid off, as Jose Ramirez was voted in as the starting third baseman.

While some may not like the fan voting system, Ramirez is clearly the right choice. In fact, the entire American League starting lineup is solid.

Ramirez made a statement Sunday afternoon by hitting home runs from both sides of the plate, putting an exclamation point on what ended up being a fantastic day.

But Ramirez isn’t the only Indians player heading to the game. He will be joined by Francisco Lindor, Andrew Miller, Corey Kluber and Michael Brantley.

All five players are deserving of these honors, and it is awesome to see them rewarded for their success.

There are so many storylines surrounding all five players, which we will get into during the upcoming week, but one thing stands out. Lindor is only 23 years old while Ramirez is 24. The ceiling is indeed the roof in this instance.

Kluber and Miller are no-brainers, as both showed how dominant they were throughout the 2016 postseason. They ran out of gas at the end, but only because they had to do everything up until the final game of the year.

Then there is Brantley, who is an All-Star after missing nearly the entire 2016 season. Seems like an early favorite for the Comeback Player of the Year award in the AL.

And to top it all off, Terry Francona will be managing the team in Miami. What’s not to like?

As I said, we will dive deeper into our All-Star Game coverage as the week goes on. I just wanted to share these selections and my excitement for these five players. And a special congratulations to Jose Ramirez. This is only the beginning of his greatness.
