Corey Kluber is not expected to miss any time after fans saw him limp off the mound this past weekend in a game against the Kansas City Royals.

It takes something major to overshadow a 10-1 Cleveland Indians victory, but Corey Kluber limping on his way to first base on Friday night did just that.

Kluber went to cover that bag and came up limping, only to throw some warmup pitches and stay in the game for another batter, although fans at home were likely screaming for Terry Francona to remove the ace and put him in bubble wrap.

The injury was deemed a minor ankle sprain and Kluber was in jeopardy of missing his next start, but he appears to be just fine, according to Paul Hoynes of cleveland.com.

Oh thank goodness.

Whether it be the magic of the eclipse or simply the power of the human body, Kluber’s ankle appears to be fine as he is on track to start Wednesday.

Some time off in general wouldn’t be a bad idea, but if he doesn’t have any pain there is no need to rest him.

The mindset may also be to race to clinch the division with some time to go in September to allow Kluber and the other starters to get some rest, so the best way to do that is to keep the ace on the mound for now.

The sight of Kluber coming up hobbling was a personal Hell for most Indians fans, and some were likely waiting for him to collapse in pain when he stayed in the game.

But 2017 is a weird year and for once, the Indians are having some luck when it comes to injuries.
