The Cleveland Indians picked up a single hit in Tuesday night’s loss to the Boston Red Sox, ending what was a weird day for Cleveland sports fans.

Tuesday night was one Cleveland sports fans won’t want to think about for quite some time.

The bad news started when Kyrie Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics, which caused the sky to get upset and rain down upon Progressive Field, delaying the game for just over an hour.

Once the Indians finally got underway, things seemed promising when Francisco Lindor hit a leadoff home run. The fact that hit was the only one the Indians would get all night makes it quite a forgettable feat when looking back.

A dud of a game like the 9-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night is bound to happen every so often, but the key for this team now is to remain healthy. Even that is becoming a problem.

Jason Kipnis pulled up limping after running to first base last night, and it seems his hamstring is acting up again. But with his injury comes some good news about Danny Salazar, according to Jordan Bastian.

So we lose one player and potentially get another back. The injury gods are at least fair.

Waking up today felt odd, as if there was some doom hanging over the city’s sports teams.

The good news is that today is indeed a Kluber day, so things are looking up for the Indians after a horrible Tuesday night. The offense stunk and the pitching was even worse, and nothing clears that up like a mildly angry Corey Kluber.

The long baseball season allows us all to move on after a bad loss, and that is just what everyone needs to do after last night.

Indians fans have seen enough bad games from the team this year to overreact to another, as long as the poor play doesn’t linger.
