Cleveland Indians: ALDS Game 5 starting lineups, live game thread
It all comes down to a decisive Game 5 as the Cleveland Indians are looking to advance to the ALCS for the second straight season.
The Cleveland Indians were cruising before heading to the Bronx, and find themselves in a decisive Game 5 tonight. Get your blood pressure pumps out.
This is a much different situation than what fans were treated to in 2016, but it should have been expected based on how talented this Yankees team is in 2017.
Now, for the lineups:
More from Away Back Gone
- Cleveland Guardians tantalizingly close to locking up AL Central tiebreakers
- Cleveland Guardians: Terry Francona becomes meme in profanity-laced ejection
- Say goodbye to defensive shifts and hello to bigger bases, pitch clock in 2023
- Cleveland Guardians: Shane Bieber second-fastest to 800 strikeouts in major-league history
- The next week will make or break the Cleveland Guardians’ season
The big news is the return of Edwin Encarnacion, who slides back into the cleanup spot, sending Michael Brantley back to the bench. Brantley struggled in his two starts with Encarnacion out, but it was hard to expect much after he missed nearly two months of baseball with his ankle injury.
Jay Bruce also moves down to seventh, which seems to be a move to help add some production to the bottom of the lineup. Let’s hope it pays off.
The 2017 season lies in the hands of Corey Kluber, just as Terry Francona planned. It is an ideal situation, even though losing two straight to get to this point has been frustrating.
It all comes down to this and we want you to have a place to discuss tonight’s game, so be sure to be active in the comments section of this post. Interact with other Indians fans on what will hopefully be a relaxing night where the Indians put up 10 runs in the first inning. If only life were so simple.
