Cleveland Indians: Several players up for Gold Glove Awards
The Cleveland Indians are well-represented in this year’s list of Gold Glove Award finalists as the postseason awards are set to be handed out soon.
It is almost time for postseason awards to be handed out, and the Cleveland Indians have several players who are up for some top honors.
Fans would much rather have the team be in the World Series right now, but there is no reason to diminish the importance of a great regular season.
We all know Corey Kluber is a favorite to win the American League Cy Young Award, and some of the defenders around him may be adding to their personal trophy cases as well.

No surprises here as Carlos Santana, Yan Gomes, Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez are up for Gold Glove honors this year. Lindor is looking to make it two straight after winning the award in 2016, along with the Platinum Glove Award.
Ramirez is up for the award at third base, and not second base where he played at the end of the season.
Some fans see mentions of postseason awards and act bitter and lame and declare none of these matter. Well, that’s just wrong.
The players like the awards because some result in bonuses and it is also just nice to see players rewarded for a great season.
Only one team wins the World Series every year, so there is nothing wrong with fans of the other 29 teams still having some pride in their players.
