Cleveland Indians fans may be torn about watching the 2017 World Series after the way the season ended in such disappointing fashion.

The 2017 World Series has been insane, and it isn’t even over yet. But for Cleveland Indians fans, the excitement isn’t there.

The Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers have been going back and forth for five games, causing debates about the length of games and juiced baseballs to rage on late into the night.

I must be honest and admit I haven’t been following the World Series as closely as I have in the past, even when the Indians aren’t taking part in it. I tuned in for Game 5 as some background noise, but ultimately got hooked after a home run was hit seemingly every other at-bat.

Yet the thought of planning my night around watching a World Series game not involving the Indians in 2017 is almost a form of stress.

I don’t believe I’m alone in this, as the ALDS defeat to the New York Yankees felt worse than the World Series loss in 2016. Maybe that’s just me, but the sense of disappointment hit me harder than it did a year ago.

Watching the World Series this year almost feels like seeing two of your most hated co-workers get promoted while you are relegated to the dregs of TPS reports.

And one of the co-workers is dating a supermodel.

At a time when the Browns are 0-8 and the Cavaliers forgot how to play defense, the feelings only get more frustrating.

At the same time, the World Series has provided some exciting baseball, so if you want to get your fix in before the long offseason ahead, a casual viewing wouldn’t hurt. Perhaps watching the games will help ease the pain after associating such painful memories with the last game the Indians played.

The alternative is enjoying the fall weather and having some Netflix nights. Carve a pumpkin, have some apple cider and enjoy yourself. The Indians will be starting yet another season with World Series dreams before we know it.
