The Cleveland Indians have two players up for some fun awards this postseason as this interesting month of October is set to come to a close.

We have finally reached the end of what was supposed to be a magical October for the Cleveland Indians. Things didn’t go as planned, but Clevelanders are tough and will be ready to bounce back in 2018.

Free agency is set to begin once the World Series ends, which will also signal the start of postseason awards being handed out. We already know the Indians have players up for Gold Gloves and the Cy Young Award, but there are some fun awards up for grabs as well.

The Esurance MLB Awards feature some fun categories, and the Indians have some players in the voting:

Personality of the Year: Francisco Lindor

Best Play, Defense: Austin Jackson

More from Away Back Gone

It is hard to argue against Mr. Smile being up for best personality, as the young shortstop has dazzled fans not only in Cleveland, but all over the baseball world.

The Indians have a true star in Lindor, so hopefully that means he will be around for a long time. But we don’t have to discuss his future right now, this is supposed to be fun!

Fans should know the play Jackson is up for. If you don’t, it involves him flipping over a wall at Fenway in what was perhaps the craziest game all season.

These awards won’t change much, but hey, it’s a fun thing to vote for if you are actively boycotting the World Series.

It would also be a travesty if Mr. Smile didn’t get the recognition he deserves. So vote!
