The Cleveland Indians have two players and a manager up for some major postseason awards after a successful regular season.

As the MLB offseason trudges along and Cleveland Indians fans await free agency news, there is some fun news to keep an eye on as the Indians have finalists for three major postseason awards.

Jose Ramirez is a finalist for the American League MVP Award, while Corey Kluber is up for the Cy Young and Terry Francona is gunning for another AL Manager of the Year Award.

The article on Indians.com announcing the finalists explains when the awards will be handed out:

"MLB Network will roll out the BBWAA Awards with a special at 6 p.m. ET over four nights, beginning with the AL and National League Rookie of the Year Awards on Nov. 13. The Manager of the Year Awards (Nov. 14), Cy Young Awards (Nov. 15) and MVP Awards (Nov. 16) will come next, followed by MLB.com’s Esurance MLB Awards at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 17 on MLB Network."

I bring it up often but I hope no one looks at these finalists and makes the lame argument that these awards don’t matter because the team didn’t win the World Series. Don’t be that person.

It is awesome that Ramirez is being recognized for his great season, with the same being true for Kluber and Francona.

The ace had to bounce back from an early injury while the skipper came back after facing some scary health issues to oversee a team that won 102 games in the regular season.

A World Series title is obviously the ultimate goal, but it doesn’t erase all the positive memories from the year. Alright, speech over.
