The Cleveland Indians will begin playing Spring Training games at the end of February and fans will be able to see some spring games on television.

The Cleveland Indians play a Spring Training game in just over five weeks, even if the current cold weather makes it seem like baseball season is years away.

February 23 marks the spring opener, and fans will be given a treat as the game will be televised on SportsTime Ohio.

The team shared some broadcast information earlier today.

As the tweet shows, 10 games will be broadcast on STO while others will be on local radio. Broadcast information for every game can be found here. Three of the first four spring games will be broadcast on STO, which is a nice way for fans to get hyped again after a slow and sometimes frustrating offseason.

Having some games on radio is nice as well, but may confuse some fans listening to the game in the car while driving by Progressive Field.

It doesn’t seem like much will change with the roster between now and February 23, as the signing of Yonder Alonso appears to be this year’s big move. Jason Kipnis was linked to trade rumors, but that is all the drama fans had this offseason. Not seeing Carlos Santana in Goodyear will be odd, but this group is still stacked and is projected to make an easy return to the postseason.

Spring Training is a great time to watch for breakout players, with this year’s candidates including Melvin Upton Jr., Francisco Mejia, and you guessed it, Michael Martinez.

So be sure to mark down this broadcast schedule in your calendars. No better time for a “sick day” in February than when the Indians are back on the airwaves.
