The Cleveland Indians still have time to make a big offseason move, and one trade in particular could get fans excited again.

The Cleveland Indians have let some talented players leave this offseason, but perhaps it is all part of a bigger plan.

Some fans are beginning to worry that the losses may outweigh the gains, but one move could change that feeling.

A blockbuster trade for Manny Machado would be an unheralded move for this organization. However, it would come at a steep cost.

Any trade for a star like Machado would require some top prospects to be sent in return, such as what was seen to acquire Andrew Miller. The fact Machado only has one year left on his contract may help drive down the price a bit, but not too much.

Even with the steep price, some fans would still be fine with such a move.

Our scientific poll shows that there are fans out there who would gladly trade some top prospects for a title, even if it only means one year of Machado. And I can’t blame them.

The goal is to win a World Series championship and adding Machado makes this strong team even stronger. With Andrew Miller and Cody Allen potentially leaving after the 2018 season, the organization needs to make a strong push this season to return to October and win it all. The path may not be so easy again in 2019.
