The countdown continues as just one week separates the Cleveland Indians from officially beginning Spring Training in 2018.

Another snowstorm is here in Northeast Ohio and it is the opposite of warm outside.

The Cavaliers are free-falling and some Cleveland sports fans may be hitting a painful level of apathy. Just hold on, because there is only one more week of waiting for Cleveland Indians baseball.

To clarify, next week is when pitchers and catchers report to camp. So while it doesn’t mean any exciting games are being played, it does mean those of us in Northeast Ohio can live vicariously through pictures posted to social media.

And there are actual games to be played at the end of the month, so the start of camp doesn’t mean another long stretch of waiting.

Next Wednesday happens to be Valentine’s Day. The Indians really know how to make us all feel special. So whether you’re going out to dinner or sitting inside and eating pizza, I prefer the latter option, you can get excited knowing that we no longer have to talk about one of the slowest offseasons in the history of offseasons.

We can all talk about fun things, like the final two spots in the rotation. Or who will be the final piece in the bullpen. Real riveting stuff to spice up the social media airwaves.

Stories to watch for this Spring Training

Does Tyler Clippard make sense for the bullpen?

An honor out west

Barry Bonds is a polarizing figure among baseball writers, but it is hard for fans to say that he didn’t provide excitement when he played.

Take away his years of alleged PED use and he was still one of the best to ever play the game. Now it’s time for Cleveland to retire a No. 25 of their own.

It looks so warm

I’ve been to Spring Training in Goodyear once and I’m convinced it’s heaven.

Passing the time

One week may seem like a long time, especially with this weather, but it should fly by.
