Cleveland Indians fans may be seeing a local legend back in town in 2018 as Rajai Davis is reportedly in camp with the team.

All Cleveland Indians fans need to stop what they are doing and listen to this important announcement.

A legend may be returning to Cleveland.

Jordan Bastian provides the bombshell news:

In the words of WWE announcer Michael Cole, “Ohhhhhhh myyyyyyy.”

Rajai Davis is in camp and although nothing is official, Bastian seems to indicate that the Cleveland legend will have a chance to make his return after his one unforgettable season with the team in 2016.

To be fair, it wasn’t like he put up MVP numbers. I get that. But excuse me while I get excited and think about his Game 7 heroics.

For those who will point to Davis’ rough 2017 campaign, it’s not like Bastian reported that the team signed him to a monster deal. A non-roster invite is a low-risk move that could even be done as a courtesy to Davis. Even if the Indians don’t want him, a strong spring could land him a deal elsewhere.

And with the uncertainty surrounding Michael Brantley, having Davis come off the bench wouldn’t be the worst thing. This opens up a competition between him and Melvin Upton Jr. in Goodyear throughout the next month, so that is a new storyline to keep an eye on.

Nothing is official but it sure looks like it will be soon. The Indians need a good luck charm, and Davis might be just that.

This isn’t the hot stove news fans wanted this offseason. However, I’ll take it as a nice consolation. Maybe Mike Napoli will be next as the front office gets the 2016 band back together. And maybe they’ll even call Marlon Byrd for the full reunion.

Update: It’s official
