The Cleveland Indians picked up a series victory on Sunday and also received some good news regarding two players currently on the DL.

The Cleveland Indians made up for Saturday’s loss with a big win on Sunday. At least Jim Thome gave fans something to smile, and cry, about Saturday.

Sunday also brought some positive news surrounding two players currently on the disabled list.

The first bit of news isn’t about a player coming back to the field soon, but it is still great news.

Thank goodness.

The Leonys Martin situation was scary from the start so it is great to see he is headed home. It may be possible he returns to the team before October but right now he is focusing on getting back to normal after this health scare.

The second bit of news surrounds Edwin Encarnacion, who is seemingly near a return after essentially taking some time off to heal several injuries.

Encarnacion may have never even gone to the disabled list in the first place if the team was in a tight division race. But since the rest of the AL Central is awful, the slugger was able to take some time to get himself back near full health.

It is nice to get some positive news about some injured players this time of year. The focus now shifts to the likes of Lonnie Chisenhall and Trevor Bauer. It would be nice to get a positive update surrounding both, and not an insane satirical one passed along as fact as seen in the case of Bauer.

Encarnacion returning means the Indians have another decision to make regarding Yandy Diaz, although he should be here for good once the rosters expand in September. The key is keeping his bat in the lineup. We shall see how that plays out.
