Cleveland Indians fans finally saw Franmil Reyes get a much-needed big hit in Friday night’s win against the Minnesota Twins.

I began my weekend by writing an article, that went up last night, about how I believed in Framil Reyes.

The bold prediction was that he would have a huge weekend and Cleveland Indians fans will lose all thoughts of him being a bust. Of course, I am talking about overreacting fans who are panicking even though he has not been here two weeks.

Reyes didn’t run wild in Friday night’s win. What he did do, however, was get the scoring started with an RBI double to put the Indians up 1-0 in the second inning. That lead was never lost.

Let’s be clear. Reyes still only has three hits since joining the Indians. He also struck out twice in Friday’s win. But he got what he needed. That was a true big hit to get his teammates excited and also give his team a lead in an important game.

Reyes is still batting a whopping .097 with the Indians and has yet to hit a single dinger after hitting 27 with San Diego before his trade. All I am looking for now is progress and his go-ahead double was just that.

It is going to take some time for any player to get going after a trade. That is even more true with a younger player traded for the first time. So this does not apply to Yasiel Puig who came up the highway from Cincinnati with no worries in the world.

A quick side note on Puig is that I loved his wave at the Twins. If you didn’t like it, may I offer up some advice to chill out and enjoy life for a bit.

Next. Previewing the series in Minnesota. dark

That’s all I have to say about that.
